The Poor Hungry Guest

It was a busy morning, and the little shop buzzed with life. Steam rose from kettles, sunlight poured through the windows, and customers filled every corner. In the midst of the rush, a man entered quietly. His steps were soft, almost unnoticed, and he sat down to eat his daily bread.

He ate calmly, watching the crowd around him, and when he was finished, he slipped out without paying. A witness leaned toward the shopkeeper and whispered, “That man is cheating you! He waits for the crowd to hide his face, then steals a meal from your place.”

But the owner only smiled, his expression gentle. “Let him go,” he said. “He is not the first to eat and leave. Look outside before the day grows hot—you’ll see him sitting alone on the street. He prays for people to come through my door, for the shop to be full from ceiling to floor. He asks for crowds to hide his need, and in that prayer, he plants a seed.

When he comes, the till rings louder. My shop is blessed because of the crowd. I do not feed him out of pity—his presence brings abundance here.”

And so the shopkeeper taught a lesson: never boast of what you give, nor of the charity by which others live. For the one you think is poor and small might be the very reason you have it all.

Love or Lies: The Truth About Sin

We live in a time when the boundaries of morality are being redrawn—not by divine guidance, but by popular culture. What was once considered shameful is now celebrated. What was once adult-only is now mainstream entertainment. And what was once sacred—sexual intimacy within marriage—is now treated as optional, outdated, or irrelevant.

But truth does not change with trends. As Muslims, we believe in a God who is Just, Merciful, and Wise. And we believe that all sexual activity outside the bond of marriage is a sin—not just a mistake, not just a lifestyle choice, but a violation of divine law.

⚖️ Divine Accountability

Allah says in the Qur'an:

“And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:32)

This is not a suggestion. It is a command. Sexual immorality—whether it’s fornication, adultery, or any other form—is not just harmful to the soul, but invites divine judgment. And if we persist in it without repentance, we are not just ignoring God’s mercy—we are challenging His authority.

🏳️‍🌈 When Pride Becomes a Trap

We’ve reached a point where entire months are dedicated to celebrating behaviours that our faith teaches us to avoid. We are told that this is love. That this is freedom. That this is progress. But love without truth is not love—it is deception. And deception, when it leads people away from their Creator, becomes a form of spiritual harm.

We must be clear: encouraging others to sin is not compassion—it is cruelty disguised as kindness. And when we remain silent out of fear of being unpopular, we risk becoming complicit in the very things that bring divine wrath.

🛡️ The Fight for Purity

Purity is not passive. It is a fight. A daily struggle. A conscious choice to honour the boundaries that Allah has set. If you are struggling with sexual sin, know that you are not alone. But also know that repentance is not optional—it is urgent. The door of mercy is open, but it will not remain open forever.

“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.’” (Surah Az-Zumar 39:53)

🧭 Conclusion: Fear Allah, Not the Crowd

We must fear Allah more than we fear being cancelled. We must seek His pleasure more than we seek likes, followers, or approval. And we must remember that truth is not measured by popularity—it is measured by revelation.

If you are in sin, repent. If you are in purity, protect it. And if you are in doubt, return to the Qur’an and Sunnah. Because in the end, it is not the world that will judge us—it is Allah.

The watchful manager: A new and exciting hobby!

In today's business world, management styles are evolving and diversifying, but have you ever imagined that monitoring employees could become a manager's personal hobby and a source of his own entertainment? It seems that we live in a time when the line between supervision and entertainment may become completely blurred.

Let's imagine this scene: A manager sits behind his luxurious desk, surrounded by a plethora of screens displaying live feeds from security cameras positioned in every corner of the company. He holds a remote control in one hand and his smartphone in the other, as if watching his favorite show, but the stars of this show are his loyal employees going about their daily tasks.

Some might think this is an exaggeration, but the idea isn't far-fetched in the age of technology. With the proliferation of CCTV cameras and remote monitoring systems easily accessible via smartphones and tablets, managers can now monitor every detail of the business from anywhere.

But what would motivate a manager to use these tools for "entertainment"?

He might be looking for:

  • The feeling of absolute control: Knowing every little thing that happens under his supervision gives him a sense of power.

  • Entertainment from routine: Management work can sometimes be routine, and observing the daily lives of employees provides a dose of drama or light comedy.

  • Discovering hidden talents (or troublemakers!): He may see this as an opportunity to discover who works hard and who shirks their duties, but in an unconventional and entertaining way for him.

Regardless of the motives, this scenario raises important questions about privacy, trust between managers and employees, and the work environment as a whole. Do employees feel comfortable knowing that their every move could be a source of amusement for their manager? And can such a work environment foster productivity and creativity?

Ultimately, technology can be a double-edged sword. It can be a powerful tool for improving performance and security, but when it becomes a source of entertainment at the expense of others' privacy, it can create an atmosphere of distrust and tension. Managers should therefore use these tools wisely and responsibly, prioritizing the human element.

The Dehumanisation Impact of "Paras" and the Importance of Respectful Language

Keywords: Language, Empathy, Addressing Homelessness

Introduction

Language is a powerful tool that shapes our perception of the world. The words we choose can either uplift or harm, especially when discussing sensitive topics like homelessness. In this article, we explore the impact of language, the importance of empathy, and how we can move beyond stereotypes.

The Power of Words

When we label someone as a "Para," we perpetuate negative stereotypes. This term, derived from "parasite," dehumanises homeless individuals. It reduces their complex lives to a single derogatory word. But words matter. They influence our attitudes and behaviors.

Consider the impact of such language:

- Dehumanisation: Labels like "Para" strip away a person's humanity, making it easier to dismiss their struggles.

- Stigma: Negative words contribute to the stigma surrounding homelessness, hindering empathy and understanding.

- Barriers to Solutions: When we label, we distance ourselves from the problem, preventing meaningful solutions.

Empathy and Understanding

Empathy bridges the gap between us and those experiencing homelessness. It requires seeing beyond labels and recognising individual stories:

- Perspective Shift: Imagine the challenges faced by someone without a stable home. Consider their fears, hopes, and daily struggles.

- Listening: Engage in compassionate dialogue. Ask questions. Learn about their lives. Understand their unique circumstances.

- Advocacy: Empathy drives action. It motivates us to advocate for policies that address homelessness at its roots.

Moving Beyond Stereotypes

To combat homelessness effectively, we must:

- Challenge Assumptions: Homelessness isn't a monolithic issue. It arises from diverse causes—economic hardship, mental health issues, addiction, and more.

- Holistic Approach: Solutions involve more than shelters and food. We need mental health services, addiction treatment, and affordable housing.

- Community Efforts: Support local initiatives. Volunteer at shelters. Educate others. Show kindness to those in need.

Conclusion

In our quest for a compassionate society, let's choose our words wisely. Replace derogatory terms with respectful language. Cultivate empathy. And remember that behind every label lies a human being with a story worth hearing.

What Makes South Africa the Best Country in the World

South Africa stands out as a beacon of hope and progress on the global stage. Here are several reasons why South Africa can proudly claim the title of the best country in the world:

Exemplary Free Healthcare System

South Africa boasts a comprehensive public healthcare system that ensures all its citizens have access to medical services without the burden of hefty fees. Unlike the United States, where healthcare is often tied to expensive insurance plans, South Africa's commitment to providing free healthcare demonstrates its dedication to the well-being of its people.

Robust Freedom of Speech

In South Africa, the democratic principles enshrined in the constitution protect the freedom of speech. Citizens can publicly criticize the president and government officials without fear of imprisonment, a stark contrast to many parts of the world. Journalists in South Africa enjoy the freedom to express their opinions and report on issues without fearing retribution, showcasing the country's commitment to transparency and accountability.

Ideal Climate and Stunning Scenery

South Africa’s climate is another compelling reason why it is an exceptional place to live. The weather is generally pleasant, with cool summers and mild winters. Cape Town even experiences occasional snowfall, adding to its charm. The country's diverse landscapes include rich, evergreen forests and breathtaking natural reserves, making it a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Unique Attractions

South Africa offers an array of attractions that cater to all interests. From thrilling safaris that allow visitors to witness the Big Five in their natural habitat to serene beaches and vibrant cities, there is something for everyone. The country's natural beauty is unparalleled, providing both residents and tourists with endless opportunities to explore and enjoy.

Comparisons with Other Countries

When compared to other nations, South Africa's advantages become even more apparent:

- United States: Unlike the US, where free healthcare is not guaranteed and freedom of speech can sometimes be compromised, South Africa ensures these rights are upheld for all its citizens.
- United Kingdom: While the UK regards its citizens as subjects under a monarchy, South Africans enjoy full citizenship rights under a democratic government that respects their freedom and autonomy.
- Canada: Although Canada is known for its inclusive society, its French-speaking regions have been criticized for racial tensions. South Africa, on the other hand, has made significant strides in fostering unity and respect among its diverse population.

Commitment to Justice and Human Rights

South Africa's support for international causes further solidifies its reputation as a global leader in justice and human rights. Since the days of Nelson Mandela, South Africa has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, advocating for peace and justice on the global stage. This commitment to international solidarity is a testament to the country's moral compass.

Respect for Religious Diversity

South Africa's respect for religious diversity is evident in its inclusive policies and practices. The government, including the president, consistently extends warm wishes to the Muslim community during Ramadan and Eids. Local Islamic radio stations, such as Radio Al-Ansar, contribute to the rich tapestry of South Africa's multicultural society, providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.

Conclusion

South Africa's blend of progressive policies, natural beauty, and cultural inclusivity makes it a unique and admirable nation. Its free healthcare system, unwavering support for freedom of speech, and respect for religious diversity set it apart from many other countries. South Africa's ongoing commitment to justice, both domestically and internationally, further cements its status as the best country in the world. Whether you're drawn by its scenic landscapes, vibrant culture, or strong principles, South Africa is a shining example of what a nation can achieve when it prioritizes the well-being and rights of its people.
